Well now that we have had our laugh, let me tell what I like about the Mormons. And, yes, I’ll subscribe these traits to all Mormons for the purpose of this post even though we know there are those wild and crazy individuals in every group who like to buck the system. Since this whole blogging thing started, I have learned quite a lot through blogs and books—even books written by former Mormons about life as a Mormon. You can imagine some pretty sordid stories in those books, but let’s stay focused. Our friends, The Mormons have incredibly strong family bonds, a global sense of community, and a shared sense responsibility to themselves and the world. This is part the their culture that I hope spills over the rest of the world.
Reading the many Mormon “Mommy Blogs” I realized this was a great tool to share stories and pictures with my family, maybe even extend out to family members I hadn’t kept in touch with. Certainly, it would be a great way to keep my mom up to date on what was happening with the kids and give her something to do. She only had the strength to view this blog once, but I’m sure it made her smile. So, thank you, Mormon mommies, for the idea.
Now I’m off and running in this very one sided relationship. It really doesn’t make me feel any closer to you, unless you have your own blog I am following, but I hope you feel closer to me. And, there is a side benefit, I get to use my creative side. Oh yea, I used to have on of those. Well, I’m trying to dust it off. So, followers, I love comments. :)
